The Urban Gypsy Turns 21

If you guys may not know, my birthday is coming up tomorrow and I'm super excited. 21 is a big year and I hope to have a great one. To treat myself, I decided to do a photo shoot for the occasion. I came up with the concept and styled myself for the shoot, in addition to doing my own make up. I even created my own flower crown for the shoot (I'm surprised at how good it turned out). My hair was colored, installed, and styled by a good friend of mine, hairstylist Christina Taffe (she's super talented), and my shoot was done by another good friend and schoolmate of mine, Cocoa David (she's awesome & super professional, check her out).

So I just wanted to share a few of my favorite pictures, and I'll give you guys details on my outfit. I bought my hair from Halo Lady Hair (an Aliexpress vendor) and I love it. It's super light and does not shed much. It was easy to dye and does not tangle. My dress I bought from Forever21 for just $12.90! It comes in two colors, this wine color that I have on in my shoot, and a champagne color. The shoes I got from Forever21 as well but that was about 2 years ago and I really don't remember the price, maybe like $34.90. The balloons I ordered offline from Etsy, but after having a balloon mishap and my original number 2 flew away RIGHT before we started to shoot, I realized I could've easily bought them from Party Plan-It in Mount Pleasant, SC. I was able to get the EXACT same balloon for about the same price (inflation included). The flower crown I made myself, all from materials found in the craft section of Walmart, and the photos were taken in Hampton Park in Charleston, SC.
