Issa Look: Top 3 Looks of 2017 (so far) ✨

Since March is the 3rd month of the year, I decided to dedicate the first blog of this month to highlighting my favorite 3 fashionable looks of 2017 so far. Fashion has been a huge aspect for the entertainment industry; from singers, actors, you name it. So far, this year has been full of #BlackGirlMagic and #BlackBoyJoy that it's impossible to ignore it. My 3 picks for this week are: Beyonce's Grammy's dresses, Mahershala Ali's GQ spread, & Rihanna's Paper Magazine aesthetic.

On February 12, 2017, everybody tuned in to CBS to catch all of the celebrities at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards. We saw musicians and singers from all aspects of the music industry grace the red carpet like Demi Lovato, Adele, and Solange; and we also got great performances from stars like Chance the Rapper, Bruno Mars, and Ed Sheeran. However; one person stood out to me the most.

After Beyonce's shocking and exciting announcement that she is expecting twins, everyone (well, more specifically me & the rest of the BeyHive lol) was super anxious to see how this would play out at the Grammy's. She donned 3 different looks at the awards show this year, all designed and created by Peter Dundas. She had 2 gold looks for her performances and 1 red dress for during the show. The intro to her performance included Bey in a gold two-piece jeweled outfit with a exciting gold crown and a bright, bold yellow cape to go with. As the performance went along, she wore an intricately detailed long-sleeved, long dress. She paired that with big gold earrings, stacked gold necklaces, and gold bangles. She was the pictured perfect description of black royalty. Her official show look was a nice, simple evening gown with long-sleeves, and a gaping cut in the front. It was classy, yet sexy. She paired this look with a long silver necklace and a couple of elegant rings.

Mahershala Ali is one of the stars in the movie Moonlight. While I have not seen the movie yet, (don't judge me! I really want to see it) I know that it was a hit and score the biggest award at the Oscars this year. But this isn't about his accolades, it's about this GQ spread. When I tell you that this is one of the most eye catching male spread I have seen in a long time, I'm not kidding. I'm not really into men's fashion but the aesthetics here are undeniable. Let me just say, black people look amazing in yellow. Yellow is said to be color trend this season and Mr. Ali pulled it off with a breeze.

Do y'all see this?! Miss "I Can Pull Anything Off" is at it again! Rihanna is a fashion icon in her own right. Not taking any debates on that. This girl can make a grandma smock look bomb if she wanted to! Her style is so fly and effortless that she embodies everything that a street wear fashionista inspires to be. Rih's latest flicks come from the latest Paper Magazine spread was shot in a NYC bodega named, the Alphabet City Deli & Grill. In the shoot she's seen wearing a plethora of looks from her Statue of Liberty-esque spikey hair to a dope, long purple pony tail. Her wardrobe for this shoot consists of brands like Christian Dior, Off White, and Marques' Almeida. If you haven't seen these pics yet, I'll have some below in the gallery but I highly recommend you check out this spread for all of the amazing pics.
